BrokeripTV : Today we are talking with expert photographer Rudy Lopez and the owner of Curb Appeal. Rudy you have been shooting homes for how long now? In-sites Of A Professional Real Estate Photographer
Rudy Lopez: Three and half years.
BrokeripTV : What is the difference between shooting real estate and shooting [inaudible] objects?
Rudy Lopez, digital photography, real estate marketing, home photography,
Rudy Lopez: I approached shooting real estate as each home is a blank canvass with its own story detail. There is not a lot of staging that goes on essentially when you walk in to a property you have a certain set of circumstances that you have to deal with whether the lighting is right, whether the furniture is right, any numbers of things. Its a challenge on each and every property whether it is a $100,000 condo or $25 million estate.
BrokeripTV : Realtors are always looking to give advice to home owners about how to clean the house upper, how to have a look perfect for that picture. Can you pass along some tips?
Rudy Lopez: Well. I just think that what you always want to do when you are getting home ready for photography is you want to make sure that its ready for a showing. As if I were walking in to buy that house it needs to look exactly right. All the details need be right .All the staging needs to be correct. Any number of things that you can think of you want to have done.
BrokeripTV : About what not to do on photographing a home?
Rudy Lopez: Well. You dont want to make it look like something its not if it is a $100,000 condo, its not going to look like the Taj Mahal, no matter what you do to it. So I have to think that as long as you know the limitations of the property and you are picking the best times to photograph the home, you will be able to make an accurate representation.
