In this BrokerIPTV video from the 2010 Realtor Rally in Denver, Mark Eibner talks to Colorado Association of Realtors President George Harvey about real estate market and trends.
Interviewer: Hi I am Mark Eibner with Broker IPTV. We are at the 2010 Realtor Rally down here in the Convention Center and I am here today with George Harvey and George, welcome.
George Harvey: Thank you very much. We are very glad to see the great turnout here at the Denver Realtor Rally. I am sure we are at about 3,500 attendees and we just saw a great presentation on the future of technology in real estate.
Interviewer: What was that presentation about, George?
George Harvey: It was about social networking and how technology is interacting with the real estate industry.
Interviewer: Great, so being our acting President here in 2010, any challenges you have seen this year?
George Harvey: Sure. The biggest challenge that we had, of course, is the stabilizing of the real estate market. We are really excited that Colorado and Denver are doing better than the national trends, our unemployment is lower and our real estate market is recovering.
Interviewer: Yeah, any goals you are working for our association this year to get accomplished by the year end?
George Harvey: Absolutely. We have, we have been very active in the state legislature this year and we have a broker lien law bill that we are hoping the Governor will sign today or tomorrow that will provide some stability for our commercial brokerage getting paid on transactions.
Interviewer: Yeah, I have been there myself so you know what you are talking about.
George Harvey: Absolutely. You know they are little bit in a bondable position because many times we are working on a handshake and we hope that this legislation now that we put a lot of effort and to that the Governor signs.
Interviewer: Well George, appreciate you talking with us today and looking forward for a good rest of 2010.
George Harvey: We are too, we are looking, we are really, really, really glad to be in a good economy in Colorado and obviously we bend in resort industry part of it is, is our markets are looking better too.
Interviewer: Right thanks George.
