Bob Most - Metrolist Safe From Any National Outsider Intervention

BrokerIPTV  : Today we are talking with Bob Most, Vice Chairman for the Metrolist Board of Directors. Bob thanks for being with us, we really appreciate it. Lots of challenges coming our way in this internet age, so to speak. I mean Metrolist has a great product and has a great product for numbers of years. Are you feeling like there is a lot of competition out there that is gunning for your position? 

Bob Most: Thanks for having me, first of all Dan, we appreciate it. Now, I dont believe that there is lot of people or entities after our position. The Metrolist is really a technology company now; we provide accurate timely data for our brokers. 

BrokerIPTV  : Metrolist has been an advantage for brokers over a number of years. Brokers are also getting from a variety of sources on the internet. Do you still think you have big advantage to todays Realtors? 

Bob Most: Gosh, yes we are. There is timeliness is huge in accommodating the consumer to that and having the most accurate information for our brokers is really the key. 

BrokerIPTV  : RE/MAX, Prudential, Century 21. There has been a bunch of companies that wanted to try making real-estate a National Event across the internet. Moderate to no success, why do you think that is? 

Bob Most: Well, you should probably ask them, but Metrolist really considers that a broker issue and we provide lots of tools for all of the franchisees and independent brokers, so that they can be successful. 

BrokerIPTV  : I had heard one explanation being that, yeah you can make listing from the action, but at the bottom line people buy houses in local neighborhoods and want to work with realtors in local expert neighborhoods, is that maybe why the whole national perspective hasnt worked? 

Bob Most: Real-estate is a local business. So, I think you might hit on one of the keys. 

BrokerIPTV  : How about staying competitive, what is Metrolist had to do stay competitive these days? 

Bod Most: Metrolist as well as other MLSs have had to evolve and Metrolist in 2003 invoked data sharing with some other MLSs here in Colorado. [Music] Now, it was trend setting and that has taken over in California and other markets now where there is more changes occurring and sharing of data, we are happy to be technology firm that has been around since1984 and we will continue to evolve as the market stand.
