No matter if you are planning to sell your home or you just want to fix it up to make it a bit cozier, there are many small things you can do to improve the look and feel to your abode, and remember, decorating is not always expensive. We're not talking about a remodel here; were simply talking about some small changes and modifications. For example, in the kitchen, if you replaced the cabinet handles it would make a huge difference, and its not expensive.
A coat of paint never hurt anything either. Its funny what you get used to and what you no longer see. Sometimes we dont see how dirty cabinets, light switches, base boards, door jams, and fridge handles can get. If your cabinets and commonly used areas are dirty, you could start with washing them, if they're chipped, paint them. A coat of paint can rejuvenate a place and give it a whole new look.
Here is something that seems a little counterintuitive at first blush, until you think about for a minute. The Star Tribune reported that shoving your furniture against the walls makes the room look cramped; moving your couches, loveseats and tables 1.5 to 2 feet away form the walls makes a room look and feel larger. Fun little tips like this can make a difference in selling your house or having piece of mind and quality of life if you want to keep your home. Remember, just like life, its the little things that make a big difference.
