| Easy and Inexpensive Interior Design Tips, Part Two |
|
In part two of a two-post installment on Realty Times, interior design professional Emily Spreng is back to offer more simple tips for interior design. While sellers can't control aspects like market fluctuations, they can control how the property is presented and make it as attractive as possible to potential buyers.
"Lighting is one of the most important elements in interior design. By changing lighting you can instantly change the mood of a room," Spreng says. Pay attention to the mood or ambience your lighting sets. Spreng also offers tips for window dressings, and how to make a small room look larger by using mirrors to reflect the sunlight of windows.
If you're working on a tight budget, Spreng says the cheapest way to make a difference for the least amount of money is in accessories. Accessories are meant to make rooms more attractive--items such as candles, pottery and art for the walls. Spreng says less is more, and advises the use of area rugs, paintings or photos, and throw pillows to spruce up a room.
