Greg Tracy Says get a "REAL" web presence-blog, video, search

BrokerIPTV: Ww are at Inman connect New York city 2008, and I have got the privilege to start and track down Greg Tracy with BlueRoof.com and Gregs spoke today at Inman and Greg, we are looking for some main pointers for agents in the coming year 2008, even 2009, what are they going to have it do to make it survive?

Greg Tracy: I think the main thing is, you need to have a real web presence, so instead of having a template website or a page on your brokers website, I think agents really need to look in to investing in their own web presence and having a website is the destination, some more that consumers want to go back to your time and time again and you can get real business from it, instead of feeding all of your business listing to other third party websites and then trying to get leads from those websites, I think agents need to really look at creating their own way presence and getting their own leads and we are building the machine of this other third party website, vendors and these are technology people, that are getting in to real estate and agents need to look at becoming web savvy, getting their own leads paying for their own web presence and branding themselves unknown.

BrokerIPTV: And your domain again is BlueRoof.com right?

Greg Tracy: BlueRoof360.com and thats I have a website blueroof.com, of course, blueroof360.com is going to be where I am going to be helping agents have their own custom websites, coaching, lead management the whole units.

BrokerIPTV: Yeah, we have got a very innovative site, I mean as far as Mapping Technology and so forth you are a leader in that arena and I think your site today is still one of the top sites out there as far as looking for property. What are the things, you think brokers, I mean what about blogging video any other tips we need to have people working in to their sites?

Greg Tracy: Absolutely blogging brings in the local element to it, so you have a website that has properties, and listings and everybody has that. We have to bring in to the your local knowledge and thats really the core value of an agent is knowledge expertise on an area, blogging allows you to communicate with your consumers communicate there are two way communications, not just me telling your stuff that they can commit and tell me how they think and then also video is going be big this year too, I think I havent brought in to video yet, I think it has long way to go, as far as videography and some services that way, but its going to get there, once it reaches critical mass, I think it is going to be a big thing.

BrokerIPTV: Great Greg, well we appreciate your talking to you during the Inman, and once again, good luck this year in 2008.

Greg Tracy: Thank you, I appreciate it.

Yes, the mapping technology is cool. However, there are other things more important. Stickiness, Content, and Service. I have seen a ton of people have that website, but they arent getting the results they want. Thats because the secret isnt in the site. Its in the service. The site is just one part of it. My site http://www.utahdave.com is one example of stickiness. My search function may not be as cool...but my site gets more traffic and leads and closings.
