You've heard of it...cyber stalking...but what
is it exactly? "Today you
can be stalked through social media, text messages and emails along with the
traditional methods. And as we become more open with social media, the easier
it is for stalkers to find their victims." writes Andrew Wooten, author of a program on Cyber Security and Social Media Safety.
Wooten offers these tips to follow:
1.
Be selective: Know all your friends on facebook, and other
social media sites and know who is following you on Twitter.
2.
Don't divulge too
much information: Don't post where
you are, who you are with and that you are leaving on vacation. Don't use sites that require you to "check-in"
at locations. This just alerts people
that you aren't home.
3.
No personal
information: Do not post your home address, phone number or email address.
Social Media websites can boost your
business, when used wisely, but protect yourself by guarding the private details
of your life.

great tips.
