Youve heard it before and, well, youre going to hear it again. The new trend and tool for MLSs and real estate is video. The day is soon approaching that you wont be able to sell a home or property without a video of it. We all shop online to some extent these days, and most people shopping for a home do their research and pre-shopping online before they even contact a realtor. So, the question becomes not whether youre shooting video, but hows the quality of your MLS video?
Most of us know little to nothing about photography and videography, and why would we? We are not in the business. However, due to social media and the way the world is turning, we should know some basics about shooting and editing video. Most people these days can offer some basic advice, such as, "keep the camera still" and "pan slowly," but for your MLS you might need a higher quality video and to understand some of the fundamentals of shooting video.
The experts are seeing basic mistakes repeated a lot these days, mistakes they say that can be overcome by some simple awareness. Light seems to be something most realtors dont take into account. Whether the room is too dark or there is a beam of light shining in the room washing out the picture, with some awareness this can be overcome. There are some more tips that go just beyond the basics that most realtors should know to create welcoming video of their listed home or property.
