Connecting with CustomersThe number one business investment for 2012 is business video marketing to increase brand awareness on the web and bring in potential customers. 

In today's housing market, you have to ask yourself; What can I do to attract potential customers?  How can video make an impact on my business?

By the end of 2012, says Beet.TV, more than 50 percent of marketers will be using digital video, up from 20 percent last year; and 70 percent of marketers will increase their spending on internet advertising.

"Online video advertising has the potential to bring the best of two worlds together: viewer attention and strong brand impact from the richness (of the medium)" says Jim Disco of Sunday Sky, a video marketer.   "It's all about newer, better, smarter ways of using video to communicate with prospects and customers."

Use these tips to make sure you are getting more bang for your video marketing dollar: 

1.       Target Your Customer:  Generic video content or a "one-size-fits-all" approach is less effective than personalization," says Shmulik Weller on Sunday Sky, "particularly when it comes to engaging with your prospects and customers.  Personalized video takes your engagement strategies to another level. "

2.       Relevant not Stagnant:   Reach your customers by giving them information about what they are interested in today.   What is happening, right now, in the local market? 

"The Web is a dynamic medium where content is ever-changing. Your video content and creative should be ever-changing and be continually updated, too." advises Weller.   "Your videos should feature the latest news, deals and offerings.  Low video count and static videos that do not update over time quickly become a ghost town on your site. This is not the innovator message you want to send to your customers."

3.       Short and Sweet:  A short, "to-the-point", 2 or 3 minute video is the maximum length that a person will watch. 

4.       Selective Placement:  "What's the point in investing in this asset if it is not going to be prominently featured on your online presence?" asks Weller.  Make sure your video and website includes clear play buttons and call to action buttons to get higher interaction rates.

5.       Quality CountsUse a professional video company for your business video. The fact is that your customers are savvy internet users who watch high quality video daily. Don't miss out on the true potential of video by creating a boring, unprofessional, run of the mill video

6.       Timing is everything in real estate.   Enrich your online site with many informative videos including "property for sale" videos.  Potential buyers can virtually tour a property to see if they are interested, saving time in this competitive market.   Because these need to be posted to your website quickly, this is where the availability of inexpensive, small video cameras is invaluable.  Even some new smartphones have video!  

Video can be a very impactful medium but you must pay attention to the details when employing your online marketing strategies.  The most important thing is, "Don't get left behind."  Video attracts attention and generates leads to your website... or your competitor's site. You choose.
