Josh Ruth Says gen X - gen Y Generations Have Big Advantage - Time

Josh Ruth Fuller Towne and Country Properties a genX and genY Denver Real Estate broker using his age as an advantage in building long-term relationships with his clients.

BrokerIPTV : We are talking today with Josh Ruth from Fuller Towne and Country Properties. Josh thanks for being with us.

Josh Ruth: Thank you for having me.

BrokerIPTV : This is our gen X, gen Y segment. We like to talk with younger practitioners in the business and first question is do you feel you have an advantage being younger in the business?

Josh Ruth: I think I do. I think in certain aspects the advantage is more long term than short term as starting at a younger age at 26. I look at it, I have a lot more years in the business and than those at 40,45, 50, they have got less years they are going to work. I think it helps because you learn it at a younger age, and I don't have a family to support, the first year or two is always tough, and it makes a little bit easier to absorb. But the relationships I make now with the people I meet now have a lot longer life span. Just because I will be around for just 40 years, 40 - 45 years.

BrokerIPTV : You will be around a lot longer than that.

Josh Ruth: In the business I will be around longer so you learn at a younger age, learn your mistakes at younger age that way is more time in the market that are really fine thing to craft and it is nothing better than getting experience, what were the young age, when this people had been in the business for a long time that are willing to mentor you and make sure that you are heading down the right path.

BrokerIPTV : That is my next question-mentors?

Josh Ruth : Absolutely. I worked with a gentleman named Arnie Stein, where the team with me, him and his wife and he took me in at a very first day I was in the business. He was actually my broker when I bought my [inaudible] down town. He took me in and he taught me almost everything there on the residential side.

BrokerIPTV : How about methods to attract business?

Josh Ruth: Every where you go is an opportunity. I mean whether you are at a cocktail party or at a sporting event, or just hanging out with your friends or family, it is always people gather eventually meet the buyers to sell their home.

BrokerIPTV : Technology guy, I imagine.

Josh Ruth: Some what.

BrokerIPTV : What are the tools you are using?

Josh Ruth: I have been using lot of the stuff for so long now, up till college and before you have been gone to the business that. To me use as realizing how what I did use, I can use the benefit, you know obviously everybody has got a computer, that's the standard but my Treo PDA is huge and I can work on the go, whereever I am at, whether it's in town, out of state, I always have everything with me.

BrokerIPTV : Finally goal or plan for 08?

Josh Ruth: To increase business, you always want to increase business and you learn, keep learning, meet new people, I mean every deal is an adventure. You are going to meet somebody new, you have some things that are going to come up, then you learn a new way to handle certain situation or new type of deals, so increase business, keep learning, have fun, have to work too hard.
