Lead Generation with Online Tagging

Internet marketing and lead generation are becoming ever more important, particularly for the real estate industry, as most buyers use the Internet to help them begin their property search. By tagging your content appropriately, you can be found in these searches and generate more online leads.

Tags are a simple way of describing information and can be found on many different levels, from attaching tags to a blog or a link within a blog, to tagging Facebook or Flickr photos. Social networks have tagging and description fields and it's important to put in this information. Here are the most important ways you can tag your information.

  • Geotagging. Research has shown that most people searching online use one of three ways: by city, street or zip code. Don't forget to tag your photos as well as the content within your listing!
  • Contact Information. This is especially important in your videos, as Google can now now read the voice track of audio and videos, so remember to state your contact information clearly: name, phone number, website URL and email address.
  • Multiple Tags. Particularly in written posts, look for opportunities to add myriad types of tags to attract and market to particular buyers, like targeting school district information, walkability features and the like.
  • Finding Information Fast. Most of us put information into folders that can be limiting and make it more difficult to find what we need quickly. With tags, you can label items with multiple tags and do better, more accurate searches of your clients.
