BrokeripTV : Newsprint Dead Web Has Unlimited Opportunities. We are talking with Christen Roberts today, Director of Marketing for Lockbox marketing. And Christen many Realtors believe that may be too much emphasis is now on marketing. And may be the pendulum is swung too far. They still believe may be at the end of the day that other Realtors still sell homes not the marketing? What is your thoughts on that?
Christen Roberts: Well. I mean I see their perspective in regards to price point MLS and other Realtors possibly sell a lot of real estate. I think that in remaining in that thought process, they are precluding a lot of opportunities for them to attract the attention of other possible sellers. In the areas by which they have their listings.
Display Questions: IS NEWSPAPER AND MAGAZINE ADVERTISING ENOUGH?
BrokeripTV : Some Realtors think that if they give the newspaper or magazine advertising, they are showing their home owner that they really working hard for them.
Christen Roberts: Yes.
BrokeripTV : But does it work?
Christen Roberts: Oh. I mean I dont think it does or doesnt work. In terms about black and white answer. Newspapers and magazines do have a value in placating the sellers to really show that were making effort to get your house on the market in every way possible. Are we finding that, that is the most effective way with so many other methods to market the home especially in a technology driven industry. I would say that I wouldnt only advertise in those mediums. I would definitely encourage an agent who felt at that was the best way to reconsider other options.
Display Questions: HAS NEWSPAPER ADVERTISING BECOMING OBSOLETE IN THIS TECHNOLOGY DRIVEN WORLD?
BrokeripTV : Is newspaper advertising for real estate dead?
Christen Roberts: I wouldnt say its totally dead. I do know our agents that have some success in getting leads from the news paper. But I think that the emphasis on that is a formidable resource is certainly less.
BrokeripTV : Diminished.
Christen Roberts: Diminished is a great word. Then it has been in the past absolutely.
