We are all looking for new and better ways to find clients and list our homes. The modern age has allowed us to reach more customers in more places then ever before. The Internet, some consider, is a modern marvel, allowing us to reach people and customers in every corner of the world.
There was such a rush to get involved, and in on the ground floor that the rush has created a flood of tools and resources available to us on the Internet. However, that also resulted in confusion over what is available and what works. There are many tools people and business professionals use that work, some working better than others.
Craigslist is considered by many as a part of that modern marvel. It provides a virtual marketplace for consumers and business people alike. Craigslist is now in over 700 cities and enjoys a whapping 50 million users a month. There are, however, ways to use Craigslist and ways to not use Craigslist. The site is not what you would call, regulated; it relies on customers ethical behavior and to self regulate the site.
The standard is to post your listing once every 48 hours, in the proper place. Many who post their listing in the wrong place experience the wrath of other listers. The owner and founder of Craigslist, Craig Newmark, gave some advice of how to post properly and effectively.
His advice seems like good advice in general terms. He says, "disclose who you are and what agency youre in. Cut down the hype level. Just be straight with people. Treat people like you want to be treated. Remember you are dealing with people a lot like yourself."
