These days the big news is social media. You cant turn the page in the news paper without seeing something about social media, who uses it, how to use it, and why to use it. Without a doubt its growing and its helping people and businesses reach more and more people and customers. Its the new marketing platform business are using to expand their reach and expand their marketing dollars.

The down side of social media is it can be overwhelming, confusing, and hard for everyone to understand. There are instructions, tips and training out there, but there is so much of it that it too gets confusing.

Remember the adage "keep it simply simple" (KISS)? That is the best idea when it comes to social media. Pick handful of social media websites and platforms you want to use and learn all you can about those. There seems to be some that are more popular than others and some that are standards in certain industries; find the main networks in your industry and learn what you need to know about those, and then latter you can learn more at your leisure.
