The Smart Phone Race

Who will win the smart phone race? It all depends on who you talk to. There are many articles out there at the moment that state, hands down, that Google and Android will win. They claim that there are more products coming out using that platform and there is no way for the others to keep up.

As many sports fans can attest, you dont call the game before its over. Simply because it looks like someone is in the lead, anything can happen. My point is, dont discount Apple. They have set the standards in the industry by which every phone maker is trying to live up to. Now, these other companies may be excelling in the game that Apple created, but remember, it's Apple's game.  Apple changed the game and they may very well change it again.

This seems to be a little known strategy in business. The more successful people know it, but most either have no idea about it or just dont or cant do it. If there is a playing field you are playing on, change the field. Instead of trying to play your competitors game, simply change the game, or at least the rules, and thats just what Apple did, and may do again.

If there is a standard in an industry many feel they have to work within those standards, but the more successful people and companies dont work within those boundaries, they change the way things are done from that moment on. Thats how to win in business, and Apple knows it. Dont count them out just yet.
