There's a new vitamin
in the news, but this is not one you take, it's a new app for Apple computers called Vitamin-R and it helps you manage your
time to take on tasks more efficiently.
"Recapture the lost
art of joyful concentration." states the website. "Overcome procrastination. Rediscover the motivation within yourself."
Vitamin-R not only helps you organize your tasks, but
breaks down each task to help you work smarter, analyze your performance and help
you maximize your strengths and overcome your limitations.
You start by telling Vitamin-R
what needs to get done. It asks about your motivation level and
resistance level to doing it right now. It
also helps you eliminate distractions
including an option to turn off your iTunes
and Skype.
If you are looking
over your shoulder for Mom right about now, don't worry, the website promises
that Vitamin-R plugs into your life
rather than trying to take it over. "You can use it occasionally to
overcome procrastination or mental blocks or re-organize your entire working
life around the concepts that it embodies. "
It complements rather
than replaces traditional to-do list managers, such as Things or OmniFocus and works
with them, allowing you to drag over tasks and marks them completed when they
are done.
Things mainly focuses
on organizing your To Do Lists and Projects, they have apps for the Mac, iPhone
and iPad. OmniFocus
is a personal task manager that allows you to store , manage and then process
your thoughts, tasks, and miscellaneous items when you can.
OmniFocus has apps for Mac, iPad, iPod Touch and the iPhone.
But Vitamin-R takes
it a step further by helping you set goals to manage your time. You input when you want to accomplish the
task and it tells you step by step, how to do it, how you are doing and even
gives suggestions about how to better manage it next time.
You can buy the Vitamin-R
app from the Mac App store for only $14.95.
