BrokeripTV : We are talking with Rudy Lopez today professional photographer and owner of Curb Appeal, Rudy you been shooting real estate photography for sometime now. What can real estate agents look forward to this new one the horizon that kind of showcase their homes?
Rudy Lopez: Well, the virtual tour companies are outstanding and they are able to market almost any home regardless of price point in the same way, you would market for some of the largest estates in the state.
BrokeripTV : All right, well. With that I mean do you think that video is going to start taking the place of stills?
Rudy Lopez: I think video does have a place but unfortunately a lot of downloading videos and not having the right plug ins, the whole idea behind trying to find a property online is to make it simple. If you have to do a lot of downloading in this and its not going to be simple. The nice thing about the virtual tour companies is that you get a lot of information in one photograph. A well composed photograph can tell you everything you need to know about a space.
BrokeripTV : So you think that thing this really holding a video is either broadband speed for people or peoples websites and their inability to stream video things of that nature?
Rudy Lopez: Well in a way, it is also once you start the full motion video on a property about a house where is it going to take you. Are you going to walk through the property isnt going to kind of spin under panorama. Are people going to want take the time to do an actual real time tour through our home. The nice thing about a photography or even some of the slide shows as you can run, you can tell the story at the home without having full motion video and I think people just started being patient a lot of ways. I mean the days of going out on a Saturday and looking at 10 homes is done, they want to do it at their desk and they want to do it quickly. So you know, if they have a list of 6 or 7 properties perhaps you dont want to sit through a five minute video.
BrokeripTV : Well the other thing is this lot of people said that video just doesnt work for homes because you essentially shooting an empty room and is not that interesting. Would you agree or disagree?
Rudy Lopez: Well I do agree with that, but you know there is a lot of things you can do about that, you can have an actor, you can have some narrative, you can add music, you can do any number of things to mitigate that sort of thing. You think its more of timing issue then a usefulness because I do see value with video. I just dont know any sort of practical application.
BrokeripTV : Can you make it affordable for the real estate agent to go out and shoot a real estate or a video pack?
Rudy Lopez: Sure, sure that digital now a days as you know its also quick and fast that you can turn around video in almost no time, just like you do afford of system, matter of editing and all that good stuff, so
