We are always looking for ways to improve ourselves and of course our sales techniques, but one thing we need to be aware of is gimmicks. Just like the products we buy, using gimmicks to entice us into buying more and more of a thing that is not any better than that other thing, it just has more gimmicks than this thing. We can fall into the trap of gimmicks, which simply wont help our sales much. So, you may ask, what sales principals work? Good question!
Think simple, just like a camera for example. Some companies try to lure customers in with gimmicks, more mega pixels, more color adjustments, etc., yet some camera companies try to improve the basics and make their cameras a better camera, better optics and overall camera quality, the things that actually make your shots better. You can always add a little fluff latter, but stick to the basics and improving on that is the foundation for any meaningful career.
Sticking to the basics means a couple of things. It means reality and it means truth. What really works, no matter how we feel about it, what works? What is the realty of your situation and what youre doing? Trying to figure out angles, loopholes, and secrets to skipping steeps is only trying to avoid truth. We will get a lot further in life and in our careers if we know where we stand and have a good understanding of our surroundings. Remember realty and truth goes a long ways, in life and in sales.
