WordPress Real Estate Search Plugin

The WordPress Real Estate Plugin is designed to add property-search and lead-gathering capabilities to a WordPress site by creating localized content that is search-engine friendly. It also captures leads and is free.

GoSmart Solutions created the plugin, released under the GNU General Public License, and it is not at all like your local MLS. The plugin pulls its listings information from a Google Base, which is comprised of Google's own crawling of the web and listings realtors and sellers syndicate using Google Base.

With the plugin, WordPress site users can put a search box on their site with a bit of simple setup and configuration, and the results include Google Maps integration, street-name URL naming, simple and advanced search modes, and SEO (search engine optimization) features.

Amazing plugin, promising future. I've been tinkering around with it a bit in recent weeks. There are a few draw backs. The initial setup of this plugin can be confusing at first, the fact that you have to manually input property types, listing types is redundant. I believe they should be present by default and allowing the user to add / remove if they so choose.

Another thing that I'd like to point out is the database tables do not utilize wp prefixes, which limits the plugin instance to one blog as oppose to a WPMU or WordPress 3.0 Multi-Site / Network. I mentioned this to Realshout in hopes they will consider it in future releases.

Aside from that, all information gets pulled from Google Base almost flawlessly. I noticed a few listings in the search results that had broken images. The blame could be on the listing agent, or fsbo?

Once setup properly, the plugin works wonders. But bare in mind, I've only used this on a testing platform. Not sure when I'll get a chance to use this for lead capturing. One thing is for certain, there is great potential behind this project.

I would highly recommend bookmarking this plugin and keep tabs on the progress.

I am looking to find some help with the installation of this plugin. I had a few Wordpress errors and actually had to manipulate the code within the plugin to even get the admin area working. Now that that part seems to be working I am having trouble displaying listings.
